Description

Campbell County, Tennessee was established in 1806 with lands taken from Anderson and Claiborne Counties. The name for the county was chosen to honor Colonel Arthur Campbell, a member of the House of Burgesses of Virginia. Col. Campbell was an officer during the American Revolutionary War. These records are taken from the Surveyor's records for entries during the 1825 to 1833 time period. Each of the records has a hand drawn sketch of the tract of land involved in this record with notes on the major land features given in the records. The records are given in full text as the line of each boundary goes from rock to tree to stream to top of ridge, etc. When using these records make special note of who connects with each tract.
